Panoramic for the people
December 28th, 2009
Here’s the result of a two day intensive shoot on an ad campaign shot to a strict brand guideline brief for a national hotel chain. Working closely with Neil Donald, the Creative Director of UK recruitment specialists Pearsons my brief was to create a range of environmental portraits showing the various jobs of hotel employees for a web and print recruitment campaign.
The brand guidelines called for a widescreen format and the typography to be overlaid on the final images had to be white. This meant that each shot had to be pre-visualised and lit very carefully to ensure that the text would not be lost when laid on the image along with the tight composition of a widescreen format allowing plenty of copy space. Uncluttered and preferably mid to dark backgrounds were called for and the more I could throw them out of focus the better. Shot most of these wide open to achieve the blur required.
Here’s a few examples of the final results. We shot about 15 different setups all over the hotel and grounds over 2 days.

You can see larger version of a couple of these images in the “people” galleries on my website portfolio
Until later….
