Seasons Greetings one and all!   While wondering what to do for a Christmas Card this year I thought it would be good to show you how it was made as well.

I wasn’t happy with my selection of wintery images from last year. It didn’t snow much here (we get the stuff that doesn’t last) and when I did get to shoot in the snow it was for content that isn’t very Christmassy at all.

So what to do?  I pored over vast swathes of thumbnails looking for inspiration and then it came to me. How about an old Yorkshire Dales barn, in moonlight, as a stable, with a star overhead?   Cheesy….but hey, it’s Christmas..!

Only one problem.  I didn’t have any night shots of the Dales at all.   I’d have to create one.

That’s when I thought it would be fun to show you the steps I took but sped up and packaged into a little movie.  Here’s the final image:
