New, faster and 50% bigger…

Just finished a complete back-end redesign of the website. I think you’re going to like this. The new site has given me the opportunity to make all the images 50% larger. A happy aside is that its about 100% faster than the old site! This means you can flip through the folio pretty seamlessly and change galleries without reloading a menu screen.

One great feature is that the images are all scalable. So no matter what monitor size you are viewing on, the image will scale to fit the available space up to the maximum dimensions of the image - how cool is that.

Entry to the site still gives you two choices. To view “full screen” or in a “normal window”. Full-screen really maximises the space to display the galleries and on monitors with larger real-estate available puts the image right in the centre of the screen with minimal distractions.

Full screen:

It’s particularly effective on the panoramas which were getting lost on the old site:

Normal window:

The thumbnails scroll up and down vertically and auto-hide themselves after a few seconds. To get them back just hover your mouse to the right of your screen.

To advance through the gallery just click the main image and the next one appears.

With this design I wanted to put the images centre-stage. I hope you like it as much as I do.

To see the new site in action click here and choose “full screen” or “normal window”.

I’d just like to take this opportunity to wish all my clients and blog readers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Propsperous 2008.

Until later…

J
